School

Well, I think Daniel enjoyed his first day. Although when I was picking him up, he had some trouble sitting in his seat with his hands folded in his lap. They can't go to the parent until the teacher calls on them and she won't do that unless they're sitting properly. Anyway, he tried to tell me about his experience. It came out with words like...playground, snack, cookies, teacher, desk, God, game, circle. Yep! That pretty much sums it up!

Afternoon trip to Fort Smith

> Well, our trip to the Trolley "museum" was not quite what I was expecting! But it was still fun. The museum was really just a huge garage where volunteers work on restoring old trolleys from the 1920s that were used as the main source of transportation at that time. There was no a/c at the museum or on the trolley ride we took, and it was HOT (felt like 107). We didn't end up having to pay for the trolley ride, because one of the volunteers paid for us. I have no idea why, but he was very nice! There was also a huge steam train on the grounds that Daniel really enjoyed. And we found another place that had an outside (did I mention it was hot?) carousel which we rode twice. Oh, and I almost forgot! Daniel LOVED the tunnel experience on the way to and back from Ft. Smith!

A day at home

Here's an example of what a typical day is like for me. I emailed this to my cleaning buddies (other moms who like to be encouraged to keep their lives and homes organized).

Well, I'm up pretty early today! Just couldn't sleep...got a lot on my mind I guess! So, I decided to try to get a lot done before the boys get up. Here's the list of stuff I need to get done:

1) Fold 4 loads of laundry
2) Straighten LR
3) Dust
4) Vacuum
5) Bathrooms, including floors
6) Straighten Daniel's room
7) Unoad dishwasher and straighten kitchen after breakfast (it's actually clean already)
8) water plants
9) clean out car
10) Fill birdfeeders
11) send cards to a couple families
12) pick-up contacts (yes, this is from last month but I ran out of money so I still haven't picked them up!)
13) get eyebrows waxed
14) hotspots (entryway and piano)
15) clean out bin of papers and get rid of stuff/reorganize
16) cook and puree veggies
17) bake cookies and brownies
18) make smoothies and freeze??
19) write on blog
20) cook supper

There's probably more! See why I can't sleep? Anyway, I'm gonna try to just go down this list and get as much done as possible before the boys get up. I'll send a report later!

Some cute things

We are at the Springdale library this morning. Daniel loves playing on the computers and Gid loves to play with the bins of books and other kids. Gid is starting to make noises when he plays with things. It sounds like he's making car or truck noises. So cute! I'm sure he picked it up from Daniel. He's also standing on his own a bit, taking a step here and there by himself, and climbing things. If we had stairs I would be in a world of trouble! It's hard enough as it is. He's been climbing on Daniel's little step-stools!

Gid can also say ma-ma now! We are both thrilled! He knows I am ma-ma and he just smiles really big when he says it. He is also making the ba-ba and ga-ga sounds. Of course he's been saying da-da for a while. Another thing Gideon is doing right now is putting everything he possibly can in his mouth! I hate it! I am constantly having to pull stuff out of his mouth. Yuck. One time I caught him eating part of a large moth. :-/
